About S.A.R.A.S. - Student Access to Resources And Support

S.A.R.A.S. is a modern social and resource-sharing platform built exclusively for the BIT Patna student community. Its primary mission is to centralize campus communication, foster collaboration, and provide a single, reliable hub for both academic and extracurricular activities.

By replacing scattered WhatsApp groups and outdated notice boards with a unified digital ecosystem, S.A.R.A.S. aims to enhance student engagement and streamline access to information.

Technical Architecture

Frontend Layer

Performance & UI

Next.js 15 & Tailwind CSS

Built on Next.js 15 (React) to leverage server-side rendering (SSR) for fast initial page loads and a robust App Router for clean navigation.

Styling is handled by Tailwind CSS, a utility-first framework that ensures a consistent, modern design system without the bloat of traditional CSS files.

UI Components: Lucide React for lightweight icons and Headless UI for accessible interactive elements.

Infrastructure

Custom & Scalable

Proprietary Microservices

Core Database: Supabase (PostgreSQL) is utilized for its robust relational capabilities and seamless integration with Google Cloud Auth.

Proprietary Engines: The Real-time Chat and Bucket Storage are powered by custom-engineered servers designed for low-latency and maximum security, bypassing generic solutions.

API Mesh: Instead of monolithic scripts, the system runs on a network of specialized, custom-built APIs. This ensures infinite scalability and allows for rapid feature deployment without system-wide downtime.
